Infiniti JX35 | FIRST DRIVE coming up!

Tuesday, February 14th, 2012

I just got off the phone with Paul Giacomin, my boss here at 417 Infiniti.  He’s telling me that one of the perks of being the president of an Infiniti dealership is that he’s getting the opportunity to fly out to Phoenix, Arizona, and test drive the new 2013 Infiniti JX35 before anyone else.

The minute he tells me this, I start thinking, ‘This is an excellent opportunity to get some insider info about what the new JX is going to be like to drive, to sit in, to move around in, to get some information about how big it feels or how heavy or light the handling, how smooth the engine is, all that great stuff that makes cars such interesting, fascinating marvels of engineering.’  I start thinking that I’ll be able to get a clearer idea about how the new JX will fit into the Infiniti lineup, whether it’s a legitimate contender in the 7-seat luxury crossover market, and what sort of pricing we should be looking to expect.

I’m also thinking, ‘Jeez, Phoenix is probably a LOT warmer this time of year.’  And I’m good and jealous.  :)

What we’re going to do is set Paul up with our Nikon D3100 for his trip down to Phoenix.  We’re going to have Paul take some pics and video of the new JX35, get some inside information on launch dates and things like that, and post the good stuff once he’s back.  If we’re lucky, I can convince him to do a short interview about the JX35, pick his brain a little bit.  It’s not quite the nice warm Phoenix/Infiniti/JX test drive experience, but it’ll have to be our next best thing.

When we say 417 Infiniti in Ottawa, ON is THE place to get the latest and greatest about this exciting new 2013 Infiniti JX – we mean it.  Stay tuned for more JX updates, and bookmark our blog today!

The newest member to the Infiniti family is here! This stunning 7-passenger crossover has joined the Infiniti fleet with strong ambitions to become the “smartest family car” of 2012, rated by Parenting Magazine.

The Infiniti JX offers 3 comfortable rows of seating, with easy access to the third row & adult size seating so you don’t feel too restricted. The Infiniti JX also offers a 14-speaker Bose® Studio Surround® system with Waveguide bass technology and an advanced Infiniti Connection Telematics system. The Infiniti Connection Telelmatic system automatically syncs your calendar and provides guided navigation to all the driver’s appointments.

The exterior of the Infiniti JX is nothing but luxury and fits in beautifully with the rest of the Infiniti family. The JX had a chance to debut at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance to announce it’s release in Spring 2012. Senior Vice President and Chief Creative Officer Shiro Nakamura quoted saying “The JX Concept advances the Infiniti design language, sharing design cues of the Infiniti Essence concept, yet interprets those elements in ways suitable to the needs of a family luxury crossover,” said Nakamura. “From the dramatic front grille and headlight design to the crescent-cut D-pillar and greenhouse shape, the JX Concept shines as a fresh, bold alternative to the many flavors of vanilla currently dominating the three-row luxury crossover segment.”

The Infiniti JX is equipped with superior safety features, which could easily be classified as “genius”. The Infiniti JX provides a 360-degree view of the surroundings known as the world first Around View Monitor. Four cameras positioned around the vehicle give you a clear 360-degree birds eye view on your display screen. Also a significant safety feature that has gained the Infiniti JX considerable kudos is the Backup Collision Intervention System. This system activates while the JX is in reverse, it helps detects objects with visual and audible alerts and goes even further by automatically engaging the brakes to help avoid collision. “This innovative Backup Collision Intervention system can detect vehicles approaching from either side when you back up. If a vehicle appears to be entering your path, it provides three layers of warning – visual, audio and gas pedal force feedback – and ultimately can apply brake pressure to help you avoid a collision if you don’t take action yourself,” quoted Infiniti Americas Vice President Ben Poore.

“It’s just one of many ‘tomorrow’s technologies’ that Infiniti is proud to lead the industry on today, and one of the many ways Infiniti sees the world differently”.
